A couple of days ago, I blogged this: Over a week ago, someone gave a prophetic word to me on similar lines. He spoke of the time when Samuel was looking for the one to anoint out of Jesse’s family. Jesse presented all his candidates, his eldest sons, and Samuel said ‘The Lord has not … More Stick!
Thought I’d flick through the archives and repost some stuff that might be worth posting again. Here is a blog from 3 July 2010. Enjoy! I’ve been a passionate student of revival and a pretty consistent pray-er for revival for a long time. For years, what I’ve meant by that is that the Holy Spirit … More Here I am….Send me!
Hatfield Travel Lodge isn’t exactly Mount Sinai or the Mount of Olives, but God sent a message anyway. I was sleeping fairly lightly; a combination of a warm non-air-conditioned room, a 4 month baby, 7 year old daughter and Mrs C sharing the same space too. Every time I woke up I was hearing phrases … More One!
I took a last minute decision to take a couple of hours out this morning to stop, think, pray and wait on God. After dropping the kids at school I normally turn my attention to the daily office of the Northumbria Community which I have on CD in the car. I just couldn’t focus and … More Embrace
Friendship is one of those funny things. I’ve always struggled with it, mainly because my experience of it has always been…well, a bit difficult. I don’t make real friends easy…its not in my make-up. Blog posts like busses….you wait ages and two come along at once. Sorry! Note to self: be more consistent. Anyway, wanted to blog about what I reckon must have been one of the most authentic experiences of community I’ve had for a long while. I’ve been doing a bit of reading of the writings of … More Male Spirituality…
As I guessed it would happen, it was back from Easter holiday and hit the road running. Weeks of relentless meetings and stuff to be done…not all of it feels like it deserves a whole lot of energy, but takes it up nevertheless. In the midst of it all, I’m like a Fiddler on the … More Vocational Voshmayshabal
When I was a lad, between the ages of around 8 to around 14, I used to be dragged across the Scottish border into Northumberland to go on holiday. Might seem nothing to you, nor even to me, but back in those days it was MILES AWAY! We couldn’t afford the petrol to go further! … More Chased by the Lindisfarne Goose
I enjoyed an evening out with some of the men from Trinity down on the Tyne followed by a lovely meal. I was there just as an extra occasional ‘hanger on’ to that particular men’s LifeGroup who occasionally organise the odd trip and meal out. After looking at some old Victorian steam powered Accumulator tower … More Small Boat, Big Sea
So, on holiday I had plenty of time to read a couple of books which was fantastic. I’m doing a lot of reading around monastic spirituality and I’m really benefiting a lot personally by shaping my days with a rhythm of work, prayer and mission. Its not perfect, family life isn’t always easy to predict, … More Call of the Wild Goose
