There is nothing like coming into a growing awareness of the Spirit’s work in your life. From the first days of real spiritual awakening, to consequent in-fillings, nudges, blessings and movements, his work is the living reality of God in our lives. It is by His presence that we can testify that we are children … More Holy Spirit
Sometimes we have to be all things to all people so that we might save some, to quote Paul. But, at the end of the day, it’s about Jesus. The Christian thing…it’s about Jesus. He’s the start and the finish, the beginning and the end. I enjoyed reading the Nicene Creed at my consecration service … More Jesus
It has been an ‘action-packed’ week. Last weekend I was preaching in the lovely city of Belfast in Northern Ireland, ministering to a godly group of Nazarenes on the Newtonards Road. It was great to be in another part of the country in the company of people who love God’s word, who love to worship … More Be thou my vision
I had a rare opportunity to take myself along to share in worship with another church in the city, an opportunity that I took having felt I wanted to visit the Tyneside Vineyard Church again. It has been great to learn in recent days that I’ve been accepted onto an MA in Mission at Cliff College in Derbyshire where I’ll be majoring on studies in Celtic Mission and Spirituality. It is a subject that really inspires not only my faith, but my sort of ‘stance’ towards the world. As I’ve … More The future is bright, the future is Celtic…
Well that was a wee bit of a blog lull over these last few weeks. Thing is, its not that nothing happens or that there is nothing to say, but lulls do often mean something is brewing, or forming, or simply waiting. I don’t know which it is. I carry around with me at the … More Stillness
I was talking to someone today, sharing something of my personal story, on a course I was on in Durham. At the beginning I heard myself say these words: “I am in a period of transition, still finding my way into the freedom’s Christ gives me as his disciple, having spent the last three years … More Liberation
On New Year’s Day, we took a trip out to Durham Cathedral. The town itself was very quiet, shops closed, and pouring with rain too. Small rivers running down the slope of the path leading up to the Cathedral where a small trickle of people we entering the huge Cathedral doors. The picture here from … More Labyrinth
